Sherman and Gosweiler has been building top quality custom cabinetry and furniture since 1976. Co-owners Chuck Sherman and Dick Gosweiler both grew up in Lower Merion. Chuck graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a major in sculpture. Dick attended what was then the Philadelphia College of Art, (now The University of the Arts) and studied with legendary cabinetmaker Dan Jackson. He also apprenticed under old world craftsmen at William Kootz Woodworking in Philadelphia.

Combining Chuck’s flair for design and wood carving with Dick’s knowledge of traditional cabinetry and woodworking, Sherman & Gosweiler was established in 1976 as a partnership. They started out mostly building their own designs often featuring hand carved sculptural elements. As their reputation for top quality work and on-time installations spread they began building cabinets for local interior designers and architects. The company was incorporated in 1989.

During 35 years in business, Sherman and Gosweiler has had four locations. The first was in a four car garage in Bryn Mawr with the two owners doing virtually all of the work themselves. They currently occupy 16,000 square feet in Bridgeport, PA with nine employees, and are dedicated to delivering hand crafted works that beautify your home or office while remaining within your budget.
